Anare is the lead protagonist of Elan: Reign of Catastrophe.

Anare's favorite thing to wear is the uniform he used while learning at the temple. A vermilion colored button-up collar uniform shirt with tears at the shoulders, a pair of withered black slacks, a blood-red sash, dark navy blue slip-on shoes and various Buddhist looking beads hanging from his wrists. He has dark jade-green eyes that look almost black, caramel colored hair, and has somewhat of a tan. During his time at the temple Anare receives an emblem resembling the sun on his left arm.

Biography[]

Spoiler warning!
This article contains plot details about an upcoming episode.

The game starts with Anare roughly eight years-old. Anare grew up with both his father Ken and mother Yoko until he turned ten. Anare's father disappeared during the plateau earthquake and was never found. Anare is a very sensitive character but is very strong willed and always pulls through tough situations. He can instinctively feel an unfortunate occurrence before it occurs & he doesn't feel well on these instances (similar to his mother). Sometimes Anare can be seen as quite arrogant (not to be confused with his short temper).

On the night of his mother's death, Anare is filled with vengeance; the only thing on his mind is to revenge the death of his mother. During his time in Cusco, Anare learns only the basics of combat. When he travels to the temple in Tufan he dedicates himself to learning the ways of the monks. For about six-years Anare is taught the ways of the sacred monks. Instead of using any specific weapons to fight, Anare uses his fists as his main weapon. Throughout the game, Anare and Tane develop a very strong relationship, despite their differences.

Etymology[]

Anaru symbolizes bravery, potential, and desire; Anaru is largely used in the Maori language and it is derived from Old Greek origins.
